2nd Link Bridge Run 2006

Today is just another running event that I have taken part before 2 years ago. It is the 2nd link bridge run and as a background, the event has marched into the 7th year since Johor State Government first played host in the event in year 2000.

For the race, the runners will start running the route from Tuas West Road to the Singapore custom checkpoint, and continue past the 2nd link bridge, towards to the Malaysia side and back to Singapore again. The total distance covering today event is about 10 km.

This is my 2nd time taking part in this event since I participated 2 years ago. As the host nation for this event is between Singapore and Malaysia for each alternate year, so I did not take part in last year event since it is quite troublesome getting to Malaysia at such early hours.

This time round, I went for the run with 1 of my army friends whom also joined me 2 years ago. It was quite a pleasant run, and I still remembered when we ran past the Singapore custom checkpoint, we can hear the security dogs barking loudly from their cages along the way. Ha. Ü It is also quite a good feeling running on the 2nd link bridge since it only allows vehicles to past through during normal days.

During the run, we only managed to take a few photos on the 2nd link bridge since it is quite to get someone to stop by to help us take a snapshot. All of them are busying running their race in the competitive category. Serious… This time round, I took a timing of 56 minutes to complete the race, which is considered okay, since I have not gone for running practice recently due to overloading of school assignment……

However, I also heard from the news this evening that this year participation is only about 6000 runners which is 40% less than last year event and it may be due to the hazy problem that has been around for the past few months. Hai… Hope the hazy can be cleared off earlier.

Okay. Have to get back to study, 3 more days to the first exam paper. Hai… After struggling through all the assignments, now it is time to battle through the exam papers again. Endure and Pull Through. Lastly, all the best to all my classmates who are also taking exam papers during this November period. (Ganbate !!)
