NTU Convocation 2007

Yesterday, 27 July 2007 was a great day for my classmates and me as we have finally graduated from your course after a 3 long years of study. As the NTU convocation started as early as 23 July, but the ceremony is our course is on the last day, 27 July and also the last ceremony #15 somemore…

I went to school around 4+pm on the actual day with my mum, sis in law & my 2 nephews to take some photos first @ Lee Wee Nam Library & Nanyang Auditorium before the ceremony starts at 5.30pm. However the weather was bad on that day, as it started to rain few hours before the ceremony…. So actually it was not quite good taking photos when the sky was dark, especially when you are using a normal range digital camera.

Anyway, after that, I went inside the Nanyang Auditorium at around 4.45pm to register my attendance, followed by taking a few snapshots with my friends before we entered into the theatre with the rest of the guests for the commencement of the ceremony.

When the Graduands & guests were seated, we started by viewing a short convocation video, followed by the arrival of the Fanfare, Academic Procession into the Theatre, accompanied with the singing of the national anthem. After that the ceremony started by a speech from a guest speaker and also from our school acting Chair, A/P Teh Cee Ing before the commencement of the presentation for the graduands.

The ceremony proceeded on from the presentation of Master Degree of Science, Engineering, Bachelor of Environment Engineering and finally to my course, Bachelor of Civil Engineering in the very last session... During the presentation of my course, 1 of my course top graduates, Beh Chai Terng received quite a long list of prize when he went up the stage & all the audiences were surprised to see that too.

After a long wait with the witnessing of some of my classmates getting their awards, I finally stepped on the stage to receive my degree cert holder with stage photo taken. Following that, after the last graduand received his holder, everyone in the theatre raised their voice and gave him the warmest wishes. The ceremony ended with the singing of the national anthem once again with the declaration of the closing of the ceremony. The Academic Procession then left the theatre, followed by the graduands and then the guests.

After the ceremony, all the people gathering at the Quad @ School of Biological Science to have buffet dinner, last photo taking (there was a studio-like photo taking with the printed photo given FOC too!! Ü) and also exchange greetings. However it was really messy…. at the Quad as it was crowded with many people in 1 large enclosed space and u may just find your friends, family missing in a minute if u did not follow them closely... Then the worst part was that we still need to run up to the area near the Café Express to purchase our stage photo… Running between 2 places…

After that I left NTU with my mum around 9.50pm after completing all the busy stuff. It was a great day for me. Yah. I want to wish all my classmates here a great challenging career journey ahead. Ü
