01:01:2008 @ MaRiNa BaY

Yesterday, I went to Marina Bay area at the Merlion Park to watch the New Year 2008 Fireworks. Actually I was supposed to meet some of my NTU classmates to watch the fireworks together. In the end, I was alone in the crowd as they were still having their dinner and I had already taken my dinner at home, hence I went directly to search for a good spot for the fireworks. I reached there around 8+ close to 9pm and it was already quite crowded.

But by the time they finished their dinner, they were not able to join me and squeeze into the crowd where I was standing, as it was really too crowded, especially there were many many dark skin ones squeezing and pushing around near my location.

While waiting for the fireworks to start, I took out my handphone to listen to some music first. Then 1 funny thing occur, 1 guy did some stunt by walking along the outside of the railing facing the river just to get to another good spot in front… Crazy man. Then another guy standing in front of me said the stunt man is Spiderman 4... haha Ü

Then at 00:00, lights were off and everyone started focusing their eyes and camera at the river facing the Esplanade, then in the end, the fireworks started off behind us at the Merlion side facing the Future IR area. Most of us at the Merlion side were fooled by the location of the fireworks since it was told in the News, the fireworks will be fired off from 9 platforms from the river. I used my digital camera to record down the fireworks and will be uploading the video later in the blog since the file is large.

After the fireworks, I stayed a while to take some night scenery photos of the Marina Bay before proceeding to take night rider home. As I was walking to the bus stop, to my surprise, an old friend “old horse” from my army platoon called me and told me he was back Singapore for few days holiday.

Anyway, Happy New Year 2008 to all my friends, may this brand new year be filled with joy, luck, excitement, good health, great achievement and success for all. Cheers. Ü
