After yesterday hiking trail, I continued my challenge to the NTU National Vertical Marathon (NVM) today in the very early morning at 7+am. Woke up at 5.30am in the morning to prepare, but actually hard for me to get up since I did not get enough sleep last night (think less than 5 hours of sleep) because editing photos and emailing photos. Haha
This time round, I went for the challenge with my friend, KT and we were a bit late so we were allocated in the last few details in the Men’s Open Category. This year, the building that we challenged is actually the same as last year – Republic Plaza at Raffles Place, beside the OUB Centre. Again, I saw our Dean of Students – Prof Lok coming for a visit and I am happy to see him again too after graduating from NTU.
Since this year, there is not much training for me, basically only forced myself to climb up the staircase at my office building everyday morning to build up some stamina to prepare for the race. But I think this year also a bit slow; manage to finish 60 storey within 13minutes or so. Consider normal timing. Just now heard from the Mandarin news, the fastest guy finished the race in 7 min 53 sec. Really amusing. Ö

After the race, we collected our goodie bag and have a free photo session by NTU sports club to be paste on the Certificate of Achievement. The certificate is quite nicely design also. Following that, we played some side event games for some free gift before we left the venue. As we left the venue, we also saw the 80+ years old regular uncle again who register for the vertical marathon every year, preparing for his race. Amusing for him to conquer the race at such a age. Another legend for the vertical marathon in Singapore.
