Today, all museums are opened for free to the public to celebrate Hari Raya. As I have not been to the Singapore Philatelic Museum before, hence I decided to visit it for the first time.
I still remembered I used to collect stamps when I was young and the stamp album is still with me now, however as I grow up, seems like I have forgotten about my hobby of stamp collecting already. Haha.
Anyway, walking into the Philatelic Museum brought my memories of stamp collection back again. There are quite a lot of old stamps and first day cover available for purchase and there are also display of stamps/ old postbox and also the language of Philatelic at various exhibition room. Time was short for me as I manage to finish the visit in 2 hours before the museum closed for the day.
Overall, it was quite a fruitful experience for me and maybe hope to visit it again next time when there are different themes inside the exhibition hall. FYI, all museums will be open FOC again on the upcoming Deepavali and Christmas Day. Don’t miss it if you intend to visit the museum.
