Recently when I was searching for some information on the web, I found 1 heritage site and 3 interesting blog sites from 3 different persons who like hiking or shared about the history of Singapore. The first one features a 60 years old retired uncle who likes hiking a lot and he travelled to many different parts of places for exploration and hiking. The second one is a 50+ guy while the third one, I am unsure of the age. Both also like hiking and sharing history of Singapore.
They shared with us a lot of history about the unique places that they visited and we may not have came across some of the places before. In the first guy’s blog posts, part print maps from his 1969 street directory are shown on his posts. Wah Really powerful. I don’t even know that, street directory was already published for the public in that early period.
The other site is the Singapore Heritage Site and Trail called http://yesterday.sg/ which also featured quite a lot of interesting articles about places in the past. Do take a look.
Definitely, the 3 mentioned blog sites + another heritage site are worth reading as you will be taken back in time and you can learn quite a lot of history from their blog posts and the site.
It is good for them to share the long forgotten history for the younger generation like us.
