Permas Go Karting in JB

Yesterday, I accompanied my NTU classmate and friends and also a few new friends to JB to try out the Go Kart racing at Permas Go Kart Club. Initially there should be 8 people in total, however 1 of my friends, HP has a sudden emergency situation back in Singapore and had to leave us halfway from City Square. Hope you can join us another time. Sorry to hear that. :(

Anyway, the Permas Go Kart Club is located at Taman Plentong Baru and it is about 20km from JB city centre. It is closer to the new shopping mall “Tebrau City – Jusco” which was opened few years ago. The club was set up in 2002 and has the longest Kart Track in Malaysia.

Visit the club website URL below for more information and detail if you are interested too. (Nice music & website design but location a bit wulu)

When we reached City Square via the newly built checkpoint custom, we had our lunch at the StoneGrill restaurant followed by taking a cab to Tebrau City – Jusco to purchase our movie ticket first before going for the Go Karting. However we were unlucky to get into a 贼车taxi where the fare was charged on meter which cost us $40+RM which should be $18RM if we bargained without the meter running one. As an advice, don’t broad those blue colour cabs that charged with meter running. Always take those red colour cab that can bargain fare.

After purchasing the movie ticket, we took another cab to the Taman Plentong Baru to play the Go Kart. The journey to the venue was weird as the cab needs to travel pass some uneven pavement and into some forest area (we did noticed quite a numbers of cows there. Haha) and also some abandoned houses. During that moment, we were thinking whether there is really a Go Kart Club at this type of location. After traveling about 4+km in the “Wu Lu” place, we finally reached our destination, but we asked the cab driver to wait for us to finish our game because there would not be any cabs coming into this kind of “Wu Lu” place one.

The Go Kart racing was quite fun and exciting. We paid RM35 for a 10 minutes race on the 80CC Go Kart. Although the duration is short but all of us have some fun on that. The Go Kart can really accelerate very fast when you stepped on the accelerating panel. Very exciting to be true. Way to go man. Ü

View my short recorded video during the game, although a bit shaky (please don't get any headache after watching. Hehe)

If you compare the price of Go Kart Game in Singapore at Jurong, the JB one is considered cheap if you share cab fare with your friends. See URL below for the Singapore Go Kart Club Pricing:

After the Go-Kart session, we went back to Tebrau City to have teabreak at Secret Recipe before catching our movies there. We separated into 2 groups to watch “Wolverine” and “Sniper” ultimately because some of us have already watched either of the movies.

During the walk in Tebrau City, I also noticed there is Standard Charterd KL Marathon booths were set up at the foyer. The registration fee is cheaper than Singapore, however I don't think I can join the race there. Just taking a look only. haha

Following that, we took cab again to the Bamboo Restaurant near the 大马花园 to have our dinner that after our movie session. We ordered quite a lot of dishes, but in the end, each of us only need to pay around $18RM for the bill as it was split into 7 person. Haha. Affordable and Nice food. Haha. After that we proceed back to City Square and on our way back Singapore by the newly built checkpoint custom. The lightings of the new custom during night day were very nicely lighted up.
