(Runners gathering at the meeting point - outside Tanjong Pagar MRT station)
Today I completed my 20th running event for the year of 2009. I actually broke my record in participating in so many running events in a year. Hehe. My previous record was 10 running events that was set in year 2005.
This evening, I joined the sgrunners for their weekly Tuesday CBD urban run starting at Tanjong Pagar MRT station. I only got to know about their weekly run from the sgrunners website forum and today is my first time I joined in the run. At around 6.45pm I reached the meeting point in my running attire and already saw a few runners waiting there.
I saw from their forum, they have set a few different running routes which will be rotated every Tuesday and the running distance tonight was the shortest one at 7.5km. We started from Tanjong Pagar MRT station running along Shenton Way towards Esplande. From Esplanade, we ran to Singapore River towards Clarke Quay where we stopped for a while for the others behind to catch up. After that we continued the ran from Clarke Quay towards Zouk. From Zouk, we proceed on the run along Outram Road to Cantonment Road and back to Tanjong Pagar MRT station.
From the run, I can say that the pace of the run was fast and I was trying my best to keep up with the first few runners which I manage to do it. Overall, it was a great running experience for me and it is also a good form of training running at such a fast pace. However I don’t think I can left office so early every Tuesday just to join in the race…. : ( Too bad.
