Do you always think that human life is very short?? I think the life of this flower that I have taken in the photo is even shorter than human being. You seen this flower before??
This flower is called “Epiphyllum” of the Cactus family, while its Chinese name is called 琼花 (Qiong Hua)
The flower is whitish yellow in colour and with its pungent fragrance and the beauty of its many blossoms makes it worth the waiting to view it. Indeed, it’s a very nice flower to look at in the night. ; ) The flower will be fully bloom at around midnight and only last for 1 night. Its petal will then be closed in dawn and the flower dies off.
I took the photo of this flower at around 11.45pm outside my house corridor when it is fully bloom. (my mum actually cultivate a plant which will bloom this type of flower) Haha. If you look carefully at the photo, you will notice a small flower within the flower. Ü
But really too bad, this flower only last for 1 night and it still need to take such a long time for it to only bloom for just 1 night also… Tough life indeed.
