(My Adidas Tag with the reason to run)
Why my Tag No. always will not appear in 4D one??
Hey u all don't use my number to buy 4D hor. Ö
Finally completed my 3rd Full 42km Marathon Race on 2nd Dec 2007.
But this year, I think I have the worst experience among all my 3 Marathon race. : (
Anyway this year, there is a rapid increase of participants which has a total of 40,000 runners.
This year, we were given the adidas tag to write our reason for the race again. I wrote something slightly different compared to last year one. (See picture above).
At 5.30am, I started the race with 3 of my other friends, WR, KT and KY at the end of Esplande Bridge near Fullerton Hotel. As my friend, KY is a first timer for full marathon, so I ran with him before my other two friends, WR and KT. But after running some distance, we lost sight of WR and KT, hence KY and I just take our time to ran.
Along the race, I only noticed 2 special runners, lesser than the previous ones. This time, I noticed a guy pushing a lady sitting on a wheelchair at the very start of the race while the other is another person running with a “Spiderman” suit. I think it is the same person who ran with the spiderman suit on.
After running for 21km, KY and I took a short break at the shelter to stretch ourselves and to calm down. The first 21km distance was still fine with me, however as we continued with the run after the break and stretching, I felt tried and very sleepy to continue running. I have been trying hard to concentrate but then I felt more sleepy to carry on running the race. Hence I began to walk for the rest of the 21km distance with KY.
That’s not all, along the way, I vomited out the fluid with I drunk and stopped at a few points to rest and lie down to recover from my sleepiness. However it only helps a bit, so I have to struggle all the way for the remaining 21km to the finishing point with KY. In addition, the sun was also very strong, causing the race to be tougher. In addition to the sleepiness, I thought I was going to get heat stroke at that time, but still manage to pull through.
Then around 38 or 39km, I was surprised to see my other friend, CL who was waiting for her friend who was running in the race too. I chatted with her a bit and also received her encouragement. After that I continued the race towards finishing line with KY. This year, I finished the race with the worst timing of 7hr 29min, very much slower compared to all my previous 2 Marathon races.
Anyway, I would like to thanks KY for encouraging me and keeping by my side for the entire race when I was feeling uncomfortable after the 1km mark. Without him, I think I will have even more tougher time struggling for the race. Hai… This year race was a disappointment as I do not have enough sleep and training and I was thinking to take 21km instead for next year Marathon as I feel that I don’t really have the time for continuous training to prepare for the full marathon…
