Yesterday, I found out from the newspaper that the 2 years project of the southern ridges linking Mount Faber, Telok Blangah Park and Kent Ridge Park was finally declared opened on 10 May 2008.

The trail actually starts from Marang Trail from Vivocity to Kent Ridge Trail ending at West Coast Park via 2 ridges, Henderson Waves and Alexandra Arch (See the map below). It was stated in the papers that the total distance of the trail is 9km and it would take 5 hours to complete if you take you own sweet time to walk. Haha Ü However one don’t have to walk all the 9km in one shoot. It would be recommended for first timer to start from Marang Trail to Hort Park at Kent Ridge Park.

Details of the 2 ridges are as follows:

- Alexandra Arch (80m long, bridge light up with changing colours from 7pm to midnight daily)

- Henderson Waves (274m long, 36m high, good panoramic view, bridge light up from 7pm to 2am daily)

I think it would be quite interesting to view the 2 ridges in the evening with the bridges light up. Hehe. Most probably I will be going to the southern ridges with my NTU friends later on. Those who are interesting can visit the place too. Cheers.
