MagicBox Show at Esplanade Theatre

(Banner on the MagicBox Performance)

This afternoon, I went to Esplanade Theatre to watch a magic show performance with DW and some of my NTU ENE schoolmates. The magic show is called “MagicBox” and is performed by local magicians, Lawrence Khong and Priscilla Khong and other casts.

It is my first time watching magic show live and also entering Esplanade Theatre for the first time to watch such performance. The magic show started around 2.30pm with performers initiate the show with dances.

This magic show is slightly different from traditional magic performance as it is accompanied by a storyline skit, making the show more interesting. The first part of the performance lasted around 1.5 hours, followed by 20 minutes break and continued for another 30 to 45mintues with interesting skit and various magic performances.

The grand finale of the show is the “Spikes of Doom” whereby the magician needs to unlock himself from the handcraft and escape from the falling spikes that will fall off in 60 seconds after fire was setup on the rope supporting the spikes. At the very last part of the performance, a red vehicle also appeared in front of us on the stage after a large cloth was flipped over by the magician.

Overall, it was an interesting live magic show and thanks to AD for inviting for the show.
