(Light Installation on National Museum of Singapore's facade)
Sounds familiar?? But it’s not the movie “Night at the Museum” by Ben Stiller. Haha
Last night, after our company movie screening of “Dark Knight” at The Cathay, a few of my colleagues and I with DW went to the National Museum of Singapore during the late hours at around 11+pm for an night exposure to the Museum since it is free admission to all 5 museums on 25 July 2008 from 6pm to 2am. But it is not like the movie “Night at the Museum” shown in Year 2006 where you see dinosaurs running all around and all exhibits come to life. Hehe.
When we walked to the Museum, we were attracted by the beautiful light installation reflected onto the façade of the museum. There are quite a few different patterns and colours of the light installation, but I am also not too sure how many of them there are.
As we entered into the museum, the first main attraction is a huge obscene red creature that appeared in front of us. Haha. Take a look yourself at the photo below.
Later on, we visited most of the viewing galleries inside the museum, mainly 1 gallery at the basement level, professional photography displays on Level 1 and 4 galleries on Level 2. Level 3 is really a redundant with only 1 display panel at the centre of the exhibition hall. However there is 1 thing to comment is that the museum is too large but too few exhibits inside.
Overall, it was a great night exposure to the museum for all of us, since majority of us are first timers to the National Museum of Singapore. Haha.
Anyway, FYI. For those of u who are interested to view the light installation on the Musuem façade, it is still available for viewing from 27 July to 3 August 2008 from 7.30pm to 11pm. Cheers. Ü
