(Crowd at Padang)
After my visit to the Asian Civilisation Museum, I actually wanted to take a train back home to catch the NDP, however I realized that it was quite late already and the NDP was able to start. Hence I stay around the Padang to catch the Live Big Screen of the NDP.
It is quite lucky to get free entrance ticket to the big screen at Padang when I thought it is only restricted to special ticket holders only. Haha. Every free ticket holders were given 1 goodie bag which consists of a raincoat, NDP cap, drinks, snack, torch light, vouchers etc.FYI The organizer for the Padang large NDP screening is from Young NTUC.
However the weather on that day was not really pleasing, as it started to drizzle when most of the ticket holders are inside the holding area. That was when the raincoat comes in handy. Nevertheless, the show still continues to proceed on with the usual parade, followed by the aircraft performance from the 6 “Black Knights” and other performances. There was 1 part where all the ticket holders need to hold up an inflated object to form a large Singapore Flag when the Helicopter flied pass with the hanging Singapore Flag. When it gets darker, the large Singapore Flag was formed up once again but with the use of red/white round torch this time.
Just before the end of the show, I walked out from the holding area to proceed to the Esplanade Park to have a closer look at the Fireworks. As usual, there are many people crowded over at the area… Anyway, this year was a different NDP as it was raining… haha
