5th ICT 2008

Finally completed my 5th reservist In-Camp Training yesterday. 5 more to go b4 ROD.

This one is a 2 week long high key training for us and we are preparing for our upcoming ATEC exercise in the next few years to come.

In the 1st week, my platoon did the emergency exit drill by jumping off the vehicle into the river and swimming back to the shore. For safety reason, each of us was given the life jacket to inflate before we jumped off the vehicle. It was quite an interesting experience for us even though all of us got wet in the end.

Following that, we moved outfield for 3 days 2 nights training in the 2nd week. On the first day of the outfield training, our vehicles are instructed to cross the river during the floatation exercise and it was quite amusing that such a heavy vehicle can eventually float on water. Haha.

For the remaining days in the outfield, we practiced our usual platoon drill exercises and waited for instruction along the way. After returning from our outfield training, we carried out the maintenance and servicing work before handing over them back to the unit.During the free time, we went for canteen break and I managed to complete the plane shooting game on the 20 cents arcade machine and my platoon thrashed the other gamers in the king of fighter game, also on the 20 cents arcade machine. He is really good since 46th active days and his move is fast like lightning. Haha.

After the out-processing, each of us return back to our home for a good rest and work. It was really good meeting up with my platoon mates again and hope to see them again in next year’s ICT.
