Cycling at Pulau Ubin

Yesterday, I visited Pulau Ubin once again for cycling. This time round, we went in a group of eight and most of them are my colleagues. It has been about 2 years since I last visited the island. Some of them have not been there before, so I am the one more familiar with the place.
Anyway, we are supposed to meet at 10.30am at Changi Village, but in the end, we waited till 12+pm before we broad the bumboat from Changi Point Ferry Terminal to Ubin. Each person has to pay $2.50 for the bumboat ride to ubin. Upon reaching the island, each of us rent a bicycle for $5 to ride the whole day till 6pm.

We started off by riding to the Chek Jawa for a visit. I have actually been to Chek Jawa before 2 years ago when it was low tide. But this time round, when we reach there, it was high tide, so there is nothing much to see, but to take some photos at that place. I will not talk too much about Chek Jawa again. After the visit at Chek Jawa, we cycled back to the bicycle rental shop to have our late lunch at a small eatery. I ordered one $6 middle Hon Fun while the others ordered $4 small noodles, Hon Fun plus some other dishes etc. After our late lunch, we did another short cycling trip to the west side of the island to Ketam Mountain Bike Park. We only cycled for a short distance at the Ketam Mountain Bike Park as time does not permit and the trail at that location may not be suitable for most of us who are first timer there. In the end we cycled back to the bicycle rental shop again to return our bike. Anyway, I hope that next time, I can complete the cycling trip at the Ketam Mountain Bike Park.

After returning our bicycle, all of us gathered near the shore area to rest, while I took a short discovering trail to find the “Secret Garden” that I have read from a blogger website. I was lucky to find the “Secret Garden” which is behind the Police Post at the Sensory Trail. It was a bit disappointing as there are not much to see over there. After that, we waited a rest at the jetty before we took the bumboat back to the mainland and that is how it ended my Saturday. See you again Pulau Ubin. Ü
