Night Scene at SAM and NMS
I am not talking about the movie “Night at the Museum 2” which was screened in cinema recently. Haha
I actually visited the Singapore Arts Museum and National Museum of Singapore last evening during the late hours around 10+pm for another night exposure to the museum. It has opened for free entry on 10 and 11 July 2009 from 7.30pm to 2am. It is actually the 2nd time this Night Festival event was organized. The first time was held last year on 25 July 2008. When I reached Dhoby Ghaut, it started to rain, I grabbed my umbrella and walked slowly to the Singapore Arts Museum (SAM) for a visit. Inside SAM, I visited some of the exhibition halls and galleries inside and took a few photos along the way.

After that, when I stepped out of SAM, the rain already stopped, so I proceed slowly to the National Museum of Singapore (NMS) for another visit. This year, the organizer continued their display of the façade lighting on the external wall of the museum. See picture below. The colour and design of the lighting is still alright. I think I still prefer last year’s design and colour. It looks more vibrant for last year’s design.

Once I entered into National Museum of Singapore. A huge exhibit appeared in front of me. The exhibit is called “Love Tank (The Temple)" with 7 pink tanks stacked up at the main hall, Rotunda of the museum. Many people took photos of it and I also have a couple of shoots on it. Haha.

After that I proceed on to another exhibition halls in the museum. One interesting exhibition hall is the “Verner Panton” which plays around with colours ans shapes. There are quite a few colourful exhibits inside. Some of the other exhibition halls are exactly the same as the one I visited last year. No change at all. Haha

Overall, it was a great night exposure to the museum, despite the heavy downpour during the visit.
FYI. National Museum of Singapore will be opened for free entry on National Day, 10am to 6pm
