6th ICT 2009

(Group Photo with my platoon-bunkmates @ Jurong Point during night's off)

Finally completed my 6th reservist In-Camp Training. 4 more to go b4 ROD.

This time round is a 2 week long high key training for us and we are doing our ATEC Stage 1 evaluation.

In the 1st week, my platoon was ramped up with our detachment drills to achieve a Recon 1 status to prepare to the ATEC Stage 1 test on the 2nd week. Almost everyday, we are doing the same drills over and over again in order to familiarize with our skills and improve on the accuracy and speed of the drills. In the 1st week, our officer also gave us some night’s off to relax ourselves before the test on the 2nd week. My small group went to Jurong West for dinner and Jurong Point for some window shopping during the night’s off.

On the 2nd week of the ICT, ATEC Stage 1 evaluation was carried out for 2 days and our platoon was tested on 1 of the day and we were glad that our platoon was able to get a good Recon 1 result for the company. Other Platoons also achieved a good Recon 1 result for the ATEC Stage 1 test.

IPPT test was also conducted in the 2nd week of the ICT for those who has not cleared their test for the 1 year window period. As I am not able to find the time to book the test outside camp, so I also took the test in camp. I was fortunate to do some training with my platoon mates during the 1st week of ICT before we took the IPPT test on the 2nd week. I manage to clear my IPPT test, even though I only have 1 week of training with my platoon mates.

1 sad thing to mention here is that the unit has removed the arcade machines from the canteen when we realized about that on our 1 day during the ICT… Too bad. I don’t know why the unit has removed the arcade machines…

Last but not list, we also collected out new pixelised No. 4 Army Combat Uniform on the last 2nd day of week 2 after we did our sizing of the uniform on the first day when we in-pro to camp.

Anyway, on the last 2nd day of ICT, the unit has some happy hours after the ATEC test and everyone enjoyed ourselves. During the out-processing, everyone of us return back to our home for a good rest and work. It was really good meeting up with my platoon mates again and hope to see them again in next year’s ICT for ATEC Stage 2. Hope we can also do well for ATEC Stage 2 evaluation.
