(The MindCafe and membership card)
On Sunday, 6 Sept 2009, I visited the MindCafe @ Purvis Street near Bugis area with a few of my friends, DY, KG, RL and JY after I booked out from camp for my 1st week of ICT on 5 Sept 2009.
In the MindCafe, we spent around 3 hours playing a total of 3 games and I will give a brief introduction of the games below.
(The Mind Menu)
We started off playing the game “Santiago” where each of us received $8 to grow the crops and expanding the plot to get more cash. 1 of the player acts as the water man where he/she controls the water pipelines flowing from the water main. Each plot of land has a either 1 or 2 workers to take care of the crops and if that plot of land is not connected to the water piplines, the workers will reduced after each turn and eventually the crop will dried off if no action is carried out. The games ended when most of the crops are planted on the plot of lands. The game is quite interesting and fun as it requires some strategies.

The 2nd game that we played is called the “Scotland Yard” where up to 5 players are acceptable. The main objective of the game is for the detectives to catch the thief at the location where he escapes. Each of the detectives choose a location where they start with and are given each a few transportation tickets (10 Bus tix, 8 Taxi tix and 4 Subway tix) to travel with. The thief will try to escape from being caught by the detectives and if he can escape after his 24th turn, all the detectives lose, but if the detectives can catch the thief before his 24th turn, the detective. In the end, we managed to catch DY who acts as the thief before his 24th turn. Haha : )

The last game that we played is called “Cartagena” where each of the players are given 5 pirates and our main objective is to make sure that all our pirates cross over from 1 island to another island by boarding a bum boat and back to home. The funny thing about this game is that there is no capacity on the number of pirates that can ride on the bum boat. Haha. In the end, we have a total of 15 pirates riding on the bum boat without sinking. It is better than the bum boat to Pulau Ubin. Haha.

After our games at MindCafe, we had dinner at the illuma at Bugis and the rest went to catch the movie “G-Force” while I returned home to grab my stuff and prepared to book in for my 2nd week of ICT...
Booking back camp again later tonight after my night’s off. Haha
