At the park, there is a visitor centre on 1 of the land parcels with a unique curved steel covered pavilion and restrooms located there too. One special thing about this park is that it features fruit trees seldom found in Singapore, such as dragon fruits, longan etc. It seems to be a nice and quiet place for joggers and for other leisure activities for the users.
2. Toe/End Plate connection - connecting 2 sections of members togther (the larger steel section on the right is carrying more moment as it is near the midspan)

In addition to that, there are also a few ponds filled with small fishes. Furthermore there is also a man-made fruit-themed floating wetland (about half football field size) which will connect the park to the Anchorvale Community Club and Sengkang Sports Complex across the banks of Sungei Ponggol. This connector has yet to be completed when we visit there today… :(

This morning, I accompany my mum to have a morning walk at the new SengKang Riverside Park organized by our area RC committee. We board the coach at around 7.10 am which only consists of 16 person. Haha. We reached there at 8am and took a group photo before visiting the park. Actually I have been to this new park once when I took part in the Newton Active Run last year.

I think this large 21 ha park (About the size of 13 football fields) which consists of 3 land parcels was officially opened in end November 2008 as I read on an article about the tree planting day cum fruit carnival held there on 2 November 2008. When I first visit the park during my run on 1 March 2009, it was already opened to public.

This park is located at Anchorvale Street, situated along Sungei Punggol (Punggol River) and it is sandwiched in between Tampines Expressway (TPE) and Sengkang East Way and is easily accessible via the Kupang or Farmway LRT station from SengKang MRT station. While for users who drive, car park is also available at the park.
