Upcoming Run Round Singapore 2010

(RRS2010 logo from NTU website - Not sure whether this is the final design)

After its debut in year 2005, the Run Round Singapore (RRS) Race is back again with a longer running distance covering 218km (longer than 5 full marathon race) to be held in Singapore for the first time!! The distance covered in RRS2005 was 168km which was considered a long running distance event to be held in Singapore during that time.

RRS2010 will be held from 27 – 28 March 2010 to celebrate NTU's 55th anniversary with 3 key runners, Mr Lim Nghee Huat, Mr Yong Yuen Cheng and Mr Adrian Mok participating in the race. All 3 of them have completed RRS2005 before. There MAY BE more key runners in the race which are not announced at this moment. For your information, the race is to be completed within a timing of 36 hours and the full 218km distance is divided into 68 stations (approx 3-4km between each station) all round Singapore.

When I opened my letterbox today, I was surprised to see this RRS2010 brochure, letter and donation card which were sent to all NTU Alumni. Actually I get to know about this upcoming RRS2010 race from the sgrunners forum in Dec 2009 and I am looking forward to the race as pacer again because I have ran in the RRS2005 as excort runner before and would like to do it again. More details will be available later.

Meanwhile, all the best to the 3 key runners for their training preparation for the upcoming race. Cheers Ü
