Haha. Following my Surf n Run Event on 4 Feb 2007, I rushed back home to catch the 2nd leg of the ASEAN Football Championship Final (Singapore vs Thailand) on the television, live telecasted from Bangkok at 8pm.
When I reached home, it was already 8.20pm, and I have missed the match by 20min. But luckily, there was no goals yet, but I know there was actually a goal from our Singapore Team in the early 10th min, but it was called for an offside from the Referee.
In the 47th min of the 1st half, Thai Team score the first goal by Pipat Thonkaya (goal scorer for 1st leg) which helped Thailand to equalized Singapore on aggregate score of 2-2 accumulated from the 1st leg match. His goal was good, with his teammates crossing the ball to him into the 6 yard box, while he stopped the ball down by his heading and giving a flying volley kick to the goal into our Singapore net. It was in deed a really great and excellent goal as I can say. Ü
As the match goes on in the 2nd half, the Thai team nearly closes up the game with another goal but it was luckily blocked by 1 of the Singapore Players at the Goal Post. As I thought the match was going to be continued on into extra time during the 80th min, another surprising goal came in 1 min later which put Singapore into the lead again with a aggregate score of 3-2. The goal came from the substitute, Khairul Amri (another Super Sub, long time have not mentioned this term since Super Sub, Steven-Tan in the 90’s) where he sent the goal into the Thai net with his outer right foot. A joy in deed for Singapore side. Hehe. Khairul Amri's goal was also a nice one and excellent one as I can say here.
The match ended with the score remained unchanged, and Singapore was finally crowned the winner of this year ASEAN championship final. Congratulation and 3 cheers to the Singapore Team. One final thing to comment is that this match is much more exciting and even faster pace compared to the 1st leg final on last Wednesday. Haha.
