Night Cycling (脚踏车夜间游)

(Grp Photo before the night cycling adventure)

Last evening, I joined 6 friends for a night cycling starting from ECP towards Changi Village and towards the Eastern Coastal Park Connector Network (PCN) and make a detour back to ECP again. 2 of them are new friends who I just met. We rented our bicycles at around 10pm for overnight ride that cost us $8 each. And the bicycles are quite new too.

(Eastern Coastal PCN maps and information)

We cycled towards Changi Village for our first stop for a break after slow 1.5 hour cycle journey. By the way, I really get tired with the Changi coastal road PCN which is a 8km long straight route…. :( After some hardwork, we finally reached Changi V for a drinking break. Most of us ordered Sugar Cane drink except for one who ordered pineapple drink. “A” also ordered Nasi Lemak from the hawker centre for his supper.

After the break, we continued our ride towards the Changi Boardwalk but on the way there, we saw 3 阿官 in lady dress and waiting at the roadside. Due to curiosity, we took a look and then continued the ride to Changi Boardwalk and that is the hardest part of the journey we ever had throughout the night. Going up and down steps and riding through narrow path. We even need to carry our bicycles at some locations… :( Not a good place for bicycle ride there, only good for manual walk. Since we are there, we took a few group photos along the way. After that we continued our ride towards Loyang and up to Pasir Ris White Sand shopping mall to have our second break for the night.

(Arrived at Downtown East)

From the second break, we headed towards AC's house at Tampines area for a third break from around 3am to 3.40am and we took a few group photos at her house again. Our next stop was riding to one Simpang Bedok Food centre which “A” recommended to have some roti pratra and drinks at around 4+am. After filling our stomach with some food, we continued downward to Siglap towards ECP via the small Siglap Park connector.

(Break at AC's house and a "Ulu" Bedok Food Centre)

When we reached back to ECP, it was around 6.15am or so. We returned our bicycles and rested on the breakwater to wait for the sunrise before going back home for rest. Anyway, it was a great experience having my first night cycling and it was really cooling cycling at night too. :D

Our next plan maybe cycling at the western Park Connector Network in some other time.. It would be another interesting ride, but it would be good to cycle west PCN during the daylight to see more interesting scenery.
